I am a Perth based artist with a fascination with the natural world. Many years of observing the ways that one kind of landform makes way for another and the subtle changes in plant life as sea becomes bush have compelled me to document the land through painting. It was enough to capture this for myself but I increasingly find myself wanting to share the beauty of the world around us with others through my work. A professional background in cartography means that I lean towards a highly planned and detailed process although I am learning from the land and my style is evolving to become looser and more evocative. I hope that the resultant watercolours exude light and atmosphere, transporting the viewer to another place.
